GP Earnings
NHS England require that the net earnings of doctors engaged in the practice is publicised by 31 March 2025 at the latest. However, it should be noted that the prescribed method of calculating earnings is potentially misleading because it takes no account of how much time doctors spend working in the practice and should not be used for any judgement about GP earnings, nor to make any comparisons with other practices.
The average pay for GPs working in Lockswood Surgery in the last financial year was £81,318 before tax and National Insurance. This is for 10 part time GPs and 1 long term locum GPs who worked in the practice for six months or more.

Physiotherapist – First Contact Physiotherapist (FCP)
At the practice, we can offer appointments with a First Contact Physiotherapist (FCP) who assesses and treats new musculoskeletal (joint, muscle, nerve) problems. This appointment can be at Lockswood, Stubbington or Brook Lane Surgery, allowing quicker access to care for issues like back pain, sprains, or arthritis without needing a GP referral first. They diagnose, provide self-management advice, prescribe exercises, order tests (X-rays, blood tests), give 'fit notes,' and refer to other specialists if needed, streamlining care and helping patients manage conditions effectively.

We have a district nursing team attached to our practice. They are responsible for providing nursing care and advice to less mobile patients in their own homes.
They can be contacted via the surgery, where a message can be left and they will return your call as soon as possible.
Locums
We sometimes have locum GPs working in the surgery to cover sick leave and holidays.
